Pedestrian, 14, in critical condition

A 14-year-old girl has suffered life-threatening injuries in a traffic incident earlier this afternoon on the Coast Road.

The girl, a Russian national, was hit by an SUV being driven by a woman, 39, of Mgarr.

The police said that an ambulance was called on site to assist the teenager, who was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital. The girl suffered grievous injuries and is in danger of dying.

A magisterial inquiry has been ordered.
