Woman in labour escorted to hospital by police in morning rush hour

Police escort woman in labour to hospital after the man feared she’d give birth in the car

Stuck in the morning’s insane traffic with a woman in labor by his side, a man sought the help of the police, fearing that the woman would give birth in the car.

The case happened this morning shortly after 9am, when police officers stuck in traffic in Santa Lucija Avenue, Paola, were approached by a man requesting their assistance.

He told them that he had a pregnant woman in his car, about to give birth, and that they needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible.

The inspector and the constable, who were headed to Valletta for a parade marking Police Week, escorted the couple to Mater Dei Hospital.
