Man slips on stairs aboard ship, suffers grievous injuries

A 52-year-old man from Qrendi was hospitalised suffering from grievous injuries after he slipped off the stairs onboard a merchant vessel at the Freeport, in Birzebbuga.

The incident happened at around 4.50am.

The police said an ambulance was called on site to assist the man. At the hospital, he was certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

A magisterial inquiry is underway while the police are still investigating.
