Elderly couple hit by car in Naxxar

A French couple has been hospitalized following a traffic accident along the Coast Road.

According to the police, which are still conducting an investigation into the incident, a man and a woman were hit by a car last night at around 7.10pm.

A 23-year-old man of Mosta was at the wheel of the Jaguar X-Type.

A magisterial inquiry has been appointed. The police said that the woman, 80, suffered grievous injuries whilst the condition of the 84-year-old man is not yet known.
