Man seriously injured in Lija accident

A man was seriously injured Tuesday evening when he was hit by a car in Lija, the police said today.

The 67-year-old man, from Lija, was taken to Mater Dei for treatment, said police.

Police were informed of the accident at around 10pm, which took place on Mosta Road.

The man was struck by a Honda Civic, which was being driven by a 51-year-old man, of Mosta.

Reports later confirmed that the pedestrian's injuries were of a grievous nature.

Police investigations are on-going.
