Woman dies after being hit by car near Manoel Island

A woman, 30, from Żurrieq, died in hospital yesterday evening after she was hit by a car near Manoel Island.

Police were informed of the accident at 7:40pm, when the woman was hit by a Nissan GTR, which was being driven by a man, 40, from Swieqi. 

The woman was taken to Mater Dei for treatment, but died shortly after.

An inquiry is being held.
