Burglars get away with considerable amount of jewellery after Sliema shop break-in

A clothes shop and a jewellers were broken into last night, with burglars escaping with a considerable amount of jewellery, according to the police.

The police said there were informed that two shops at The Strand, Sliema had been broken into and that from preliminary inspections it appeared that the clothes shop had been broken into for the thieves to gain access to the jewellers shop.

Police investigations are still on going, and a magisterial inquiry is underway.
