Man grievously injured during argument in Naxxar

A confrontation broke out between two persons from Ghana, aged 19 and 34, late last night at about 11.30pm in Triq St. Lucija, Naxxar, reports by witnesses and police said.

The incident occurred following the Christmas village fair which took place in the area over the weekend. 

The 34-year-old man was taken to Mater Dei hospital by an ambulance for treatment and was later certified as suffering from serious injuries, as a sharp weapon was involved.

Onlookers told this newspaper that the argument turned into a knife attack which led the injured man to lose a large amount of blood. 

Both men are residents of Rahal Gdid. 

Police investigations are ongoing.
