Police hunting down shooter who killed one and injured two others in Birzebbuga incident on Saturday night

A man was killed, with another two were injured following a shooting in Birzebbuga on Saturday night.

The police said the incident took place in Triq tal-Ġebel around 11pm.

The three victims are migrant workers. The murdered and injured have not yet been identified but one of the injured is a 45-year-old from Georgia.

Both the injured men were transferred to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where one of them is currently undergoing surgery for a gunshot wound in his lower body.

Sources said the shooter is still on the run and the motive is unknown. It is understood that the shooter fired from a Toyota Starlet, which the police are also on the lookout for.

Police have said that they are looking at CCTV footage in the entire Hal Far area to identify the shooter.
