According to answers to PQs by the home affairs ministry, there are 9,670 EU citizens working in Malta and another 11,565 non-EU nationals working in Malta.

Filipino workers, at 893, form the largest non-EU group working in Malta.

They are followed by Chinese workers, 454, and Eritrean workers, 291.

From the EU, Malta's long-standing relationship with the British is clear: 1,937 are legal workers here, and then are closely followed by 1,543 Italian workers, and 878 Bulgarian workers.
