Alternattiva Demokratika has released the names of the nine candidates who will contest the upcoming election on its behalf.

Its chairperson Arnold Cassola will contest on the 9th and 10th districts, while its deputy chairperson Carmel Cacopardo will run on the 4th and 11th districts.

AD is set to launch its electoral manifesto on Saturday.

The AD becomes the second political party to release its final list of candidates, after the Partit Demokratiku.

Its full list of candidates is as follows:

District 1: Marc Andrea Cassar

District 2: Mario Mallia and Christian Mizzi

District 3: Christian Mizzi

District 4: Carmel Cacopardo

District 5: Pascal Aloisio

District 6: Simon Galea

District 7: Ralph Cassar

District 8: Pascal Aloisio and Mario Mallia

District 9: Arnold Cassola and Danika Formosa

District 10: Arnold Cassola and Danika Formosa

District 11: Carmel Cacopardo and Ralph Cassar

District 12: Simon Galea and Luke Caruana

District 13: Luke Caruana

Alternattiva Demokratika will contest the election on 3 June as a separate party after coalition talks with the Nationalist Party collapsed over what party name both sets of candidates will contest under. The PN had proposed that AD candidates run on the PN ticket but with nicknames to distinguish them, a similar agreement to that which was formalised with the Partit Demokratiku.

However, the AD insisted that all PN, AD and PD candidates run under a completely new name to reflect the new coalition.
