Police have published photos of two men who they are looking to speak to, after an ‘altercation’ took place on a platform at a tube station in central London, triggering mass panic.

No casualties were reported, however 16 people needed medical treatment after they were injured while fleeing the station, due to reports of gunshots having been fired on a Central Line platform.

The police are seeking to speak to anybody who was at Oxford Circus station at the time of the evacuation.

No evidence of shots having been fired was found.

Shops in the Oxford Street area put down there shutters as armed police arrived at the scene yesterday, in the midst of the Black Friday sales.

The incident was originally treated a potentially terrorism-related, but police later stood down after nothing untoward was found.
