Gozo Channel appoints new chairperson
Paul Curmi was appointed Chairman of the Gozo Channel Board following the former chairman’s resignation in November.
Government has announced that Paul Curmi was appointed Chairperson of the Gozo Channel Board, replacing Acting Chairperson Vince Mifsud.
Mifsud retained his post of deputy chairman.
The post of chairman became vacant when former Gozo Channel chairman Joseph Grech resigned in November on reports that he had ordered one of the company ferries to turn back to collect him and his family from the Mgarr harbour after missing the boat on 12 November.
Curmi, a father of two, carries a 35 year experience in the Banking Industry, occupying different posts mostly dealing with the commercial community in Gozo.
Presently he is the HSBC Area Director for Gozo. He was also the mayor of Munxar for five years and is a member on the Gozo Regional Committee of MCESD.
Vince Mifsud retains his post of Deputy Chairman.
Rita Mifsud, Michael Camilleri Kamsky, Carmel Camilleri, Victor Galea Pace, Stephanie Buttigieg, Janine Giglio and Joshua Grech have been appointed as Board members.
