Thief injures himself while breaking into Mosta residence

A thief injured himself as he was breaking into a residence in Mosta yesterday afternoon, the Police said.

The Police said the man injured his hand after breaking in a house in Mosta. The owner informed the Police that somebody had stolen some items from his house and after arriving on site the police found large quantities of blood inside and outside the house.

The Police were later informed by Mater Dei hospital that a man required medical assistance for injuries to his hand, but later escaped.

The man was tracked down and arrested following his hospital visit.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the person had probably injured himself after breaking a window pane while entered the house he raided.
