Princess Kate to visit Malta for Independence celebrations

Government confirms presence of Princess Kate for 50th anniversary celebrations of Independence in September

Princess Kate will be visiting Malta in September for the country's Independence celebrations.

In a statement government said that the Duchess of Cambridge will visit Malta on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2014 to represent Her Majesty The Queen on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Malta's Independence.

Further details will be announced in due course. This will be the first visit to Malta for Kate Middleton who married Prince William in 2011.

In July 2013, she gave birth to Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, who is third in line to the British throne.
