MEPA says charity dinner venue is legal

MEPA shoots down reports that a Community Chest Fund dinner would be held on an illegally developed site

MEPA have issued a press statement in reaction to an article published in The Times, entitled 'President to raise charity funds at illegal estate', refuting claims that a charity dinner in aid of the Community Chest Fund was being held on a site of illegal development.

"Although the Montekristo Estates has been issued with a number of enforcement notices, the area where the dinner is being held has the proper permits," the statement reads.

The article in The Times says that the dinner, organized by the Malta Developers Association, was to be held on the premises with President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca in attendance.
