PN challenges government to debate judge’s impeachment before summer recess

Justice not equal for all, opposition says as it insists Judge Lino Farrugia Sacco’s impeachment should be presented before Parliament adjourns for summer holidays

The opposition reiterated its call to have the impeachment motion on Judge Lino Farrugia Sacco discussed tonight, before Parliament shuts its doors for the summer recess.

If the motion is not presented before the summer recess, the Judge would be allowed to retire without Parliament taking any decision, the PN said.

“Everyone should be equal before the law, but for the umpteenth time, the Labour government and the justice minister Owen Bonnici have shown that they have no qualm in hindering justice, in such away that justice is not made.”

The PN added that it would make its utmost to ensure that justice is implemented and “challenged” Bonnici to debate the motion before the summer recess.

It also noted that the government had kept mum and failed to take action against the chairman of Gozo Channel who admitted his involvememt in a case where €4,000 were stolen before the media got hold of the story.
