[WATCH] President of S&D group in European Parliament in Malta for IUSY festival

Gianni Pittella, President of the Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament is currently in Malta for the International Union of Socialists Youth (IUSY) world festival 2014.

Pittella was this morning received by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat at his office at Auberge de Castille. Members of the media were invited for a photo opportunity while the meeting between Muscat and Pittella, who was accompanied by his wife, was held behind closed doors.

The IUSY festival, a six-day gathering, brings together young political activists from all over the world. Organisers of the festival promote it as a high-profile platform for political youth leaders and policy experts to map out their progressive vision for the future.

This year’s gathering is being held at the Ghajn Tuffieha camping site in Malta. Muscat will be addressing the event on Thursday evening.
