Fearne appoints strategic leadership board for Gozo Hospital

Services offered by the Gozo General Hospital have to be of the same level as those offered in Malta, Chris Fearne says

A strategic leadership board for the Gozo General Hospital has been appointed for the first time, by the Parliamentary Secretary for Health Chris Fearne, to act as a link between the management team and the Secretariat.

The board’s main responsibility will be to provide a framework within which the management of the Gozo General Hospital will operate, while coordinating with the management to ensure that the resources at the disposal of this hospital are maintained.

The strategic leadership board is chaired by MP and former parliamentary secretary for the elderly Franco Mercieca.

During the board’s first meeting, a number of issues where discussed together with Fearne, who outlined his vision for the Gozo General Hospital.

He reiterated that services offered by the Gozo General Hospital have to be of the same level as those offered in Malta.

The strategic leadership board will be meeting on a regular basis and is set to pave the ground for the present and future needs of the Gozo General Hospital ensuring the patient remains at the center of the care provided.
