Over 30 children formed part of a group of 257 migrants brought ashore yesterday, one of whom was a six-month old boy in need of medical care. The group landed at Hay Wharf yesterday aboard AFM vessels, bringing this year's total number of migrants to 565.

A delegation from the Libyan parliament is in Malta for talks about the recognition of the democratically elected House of Representatives. Their visit to Malta comes in the wake of visits to other nations in an effort to reinforce international support for the government in Libya.

A priest accused of sexual abuse had his bail overturned and Mr Justice Michael Mallia ordered his preventative arrest until the alleged victims have given their testimonies. Once the testimonies are given, the accused's bail would once more come into force.

The Malta Independent

A Eurobarometer survey showed that about 41% of people between 15 and 24 in Malta believed that occasional cocaine use presented high risk, compared to the 62% EU average. A similar pattern was noted in relation to alcohol consumption - only 43% of the Maltese thought that regular alcohol consumption was a high-risk behaviour, when 57% in the EU thought this was the case.
