Despite rumours that Prince Harry, and not his sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge, could be the one turning up for Malta’s Independence Day celebrations, the British High Commission said plans have not changed as yet.

“Decisions about the Duchess of Cambridge’s engagement are being taken on a case-by-case basis. For now the plan has not changed and, so far, she is coming,” a spokesperson for the British High Commission said.

According to state broadcaster TVM, Prince Harry, who yesterday hit 30, “will be replacing” Middleton.

A government spokesman also denied the news, saying that there were no such plans as yet.

Kate Middleton, who is pregnant with her second child, is suffering from severe morning sickness – a condition known as hyperemesis gravidum.

The Duchess of Cambridge underwent the same symptoms when she was pregnant with Prince George and has now cancelled a series of engagements, including missing the Prince Harry’s launch events for New Zealand’s Invictus Games.
