'New transport service will seek to improve on Arriva's flaws' - Transport minister

Mizzi said that there would be an increase in routes and that bus fares will be 'affordable to everyone'

Transport minister Joe Mizzi said that the new transport service will seek to "improve on Arriva's flaws".

Mizzi was on a visit to one of the tunnels comprising the National Flood Relief Project, which is due to be completed in May 2015.

The tunnel, which is one of five such excavations, is part of a system that will gather storm water emanating from Wied Incita limits of Attard, Naxxar and Mosta and lead it to a sea outlet at Ta’ Xbiex, a total length of tunnels of some 11 km.

On the new bus service, Mizzi went on to say that bus routes would increase and bus fares would be "affordable to everyone" but declined to give specifics on either point. The launch of the new service, Mizzi said, was planned for the end of the year.
