A group of birdwatchers were assaulted and one was robbed by a number of hunters after an illegal protest in Valletta. A small group threw rocks and stole camera equipment from birdwatchers after about 200 hunters protested the early closure of the hunting season in Valletta.

PN leader Simon Busuttil yesterday proposed making 21 September Malta's only national day. Speaking at a Nationalist event at the Independence Gardens in Sliema, Busuttil said it would put into practice the unity experienced throughout this past week of celebrations.
