Transport minister Joe Mizzi yesterday evaded questions on whether the new bus fares will be higher than before. Speaking during a press conference yesterday, Mizzi also declined to specify the subsidy due to be awarded to the Spanish Autobus de Leon company.

A €1 million investment will see the Manoel Theatre fully airconditioned by 2017. Michael Grech, chairman of the Manoel's board, also said that restoration works on the stairs, boardroom and facade would be ongoing, while work on the backstage area and dressing rooms would be considered later on.

The Malta Independent

A Dutch man has been charged with the rape of a Maltese woman. The man, Johan Stellingwerf, was accused of the drugging and rape of five women in the Netherlands in 2010. He was acquitted of three charges on appeal and released.
