Silvio Parnis calls for more ‘sustainable development’ in south of Malta

Chairman for the consultative council for the south of Malta Silvio Parnis says a seminar should be organised for developers and environmentalists to discuss sustainable development.

Silvio Parnis, the chairman for the consultative council for the south of Malta, has stated that developers, environmentalists, and other stakeholders, should all work in tandem in favour of sustainable development in the south of Malta.

Addressing the council, Parnis, argued that a consultative seminar would be the perfect platform for developers, environmentalists, local councils, and other stakeholders to discuss sustainable development in the south of Malta.

Parnis also explained that the Malta Developers’ Association (MDA) is a vital stakeholder in implementing the “much needed regeneration” in the south of Malta.

On its part, MDA President Sandro Chetcuti argued that the developers’ lobby firmly believes that a balance should be truck between sustainable development and the environment. If this is struck, Chetcuti explained, the developer would be able to meet his commercial goals.
