Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna has passed away, aged 66.

He had been recently appointed to the Permanent Commission Against Corruption together with retired judge Lawrence Quintano and lawyer Yana Micallef Stafrace for a five-year tenure.

Apap Bologna was the joint seventh Marchese di Gnien Is-Sultan. He married Maria Helena Stilon, and had two children, Louisa, and Paul.

The government and the Nationalist Party expressed their condolences to Apap Bologna's family. Both praised his loyalty and integrity as well as his committment to his profession and his country throughout his long career.
