Muscat discusses cooperation between Malta and Singapore

Prime Minister meets with chairmen of Temaek Holdings and of International Enterprise Singapore to discuss collaboration between Malta and Singapore

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat discussed the possibility of bilateral and commercial cooperation between Malta and Singapore during a meeting with Temasek Holdings chairman Lim Boon Heng. Temasek, an investment company based in Singapore, is the National Investment Fund of Singapore’s government.

It has a portfolio of over €140 billion and has invested in Singapore and other Asian countries but is now looking to expand into other continents. Also present at the meeting were Temasek’s leader of strategy and public affairs Cheo Hock Quan and managing director Gary Ang.

In a separate meeting, Muscat met with International Enterprise Singapore chairman Seah Moon Ming. IE Singapore is the Singaporean government agency that promotes the investment of Singaporean companies in foreign countries.

Muscat and Moon Ming discussed the prospects of Singaporean companies in Malta and the Mediterranean.    

On Thursday, Muscat discussed the possibility of collaboration between Malta and Singapore in the health sector.
