Two Maltese diplomats, the last remaining in Libya, have been recalled over concerns for their safety as the conflict in the region grows. The embassy in Tripoli is under the direction of Libyan staff.

Sources have told this newspaper that Paul Sheehan, the police officer involved in Wednesday's incident where a civilian's car was shot at after a hit-and-run incident, was instructed to say that he fired two warning shots into the air. Court experts say it was highly irregular that that car in question was removed from the scene so early, before investigations were carried out.

PM Joseph Muscat has accused Opposition leader Simon Busuttil of vying for political points rather than the true facts of the shooting incident on Wednesday.

The positions of chief commercial officer and chief financial officer within Air Malta are to be filled by March, according to CEO Phillip Micallef. Two candidates have already shown their interest in the post, with the contract for the CFO positon already having been signed.
