The cultural and creative industries were identified as one of 11 economic sectors with significant opportunity for growth

The Malta Chamber of Commerce has established two new organisations supporting the fashion sector.

The Chamber of Fashion – Malta and the Malta Fashion Association will spearhead the emerging creative sector, which was not previously represented within the Chamber, as an important economic contributor.

Earlier this year the Malta Chamber launched its Economic Vision 2014- 2020, which emphasises the need for Malta to embrace economic diversification.

In this document, the cultural and creative industries were identified as one of 11 economic sectors that has significant opportunity for growth and which is likely to have an increasing influence on the national economy.

The Chamber, said president David G Curmi, is committed to stimulating these industries by encouraging their engagement with business communities at both local and international levels.

Curmi also announced that the Chamber is entering in to a joint venture with Government to form Trade Malta. Trade Malta is a public private partnership between the Malta Chamber and the Government of Malta with the aim of assisting local enterprise to reach foreign markets with their products and services so that they can grow internationally.
