Rahal Gdid tops list of syringes distributed from health centres

The health centre at Rahal Gdid topped the list of syringes distributed from health care centres, information tabled in parliament by health minister Konrad Mizzi reveals.

Requested by shadow health minister Claudio Grech, the information shows that a total of 179,405 syringes were distributed between June and October 2014.  The syringes were collected from Mater Dei Hospital, Mount Carmel Hospital and health centres.

A total of 13,281 syringes were collected from Mater Dei while Mount Carmel distributed 18,940 syringes.

At 50,200 syringes, Rahal Gdid’s centre topped the list followed by Floriana’s (29,700) and Gzira’s (28,978)
