In total 102 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) warrants and Practising Certificates in Auditing (PCA) were presented by Finance Minister, Edward Scicluna during a ceremony held at Ministry for Finance in Valletta.

Scicluna congratulated the accountants and auditors who received their warrants or certificates for their achievement, and wished them well for all their future endeavours. He underlined the importance of the professional training that the accountants and auditors received as part of their formation.

“The accountancy profession represents the bread and butter of the business sector and provides career openings into various other sectors and fields,” Scicluna said

“While accountants and auditors can advance in their field, they also have the option to take up policy-making positions within the public sector or management roles within the private sector,” he added.

Scicluna said that while the private sector is as important as the public sector, the public sector is often more complex as it requires the implementation of government policy and its strategic direction across multiple levels.

The ceremony was presided over by the Minister, Accountancy Board Chairman Charles Rapa, and Board Secretary, Martin Spiteri.

A total of 102 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) warrants and Practising Certificates in Auditing (PCA) were handed out during the ceremony. 54 Accountants received the CPA warrant, 41 received both the CPA warrant and the PCA, while a further seven received the PCA.
