€660,000 to train 171 armed forces members abroad

171 members of the Malta Armed Forces received training abroad between March 2013 and Aprl 2015.

171 members of the Malta armed forces received training outside of Malta between March 2013 and April 2015, at a total cost of €660,276.

Responding to a parliamentary question by shadow home affairs minister Beppe Fenech Adami, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said that the training courses took place in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Morocco, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the UK, the Czech Republic, Spain, the United States, and Tunisia.

23 of these soldiers were gunners, 20 were lance bombardiers, 20 more were lieutenants, 18 were cadet officials, 16 sergeants, and 16 bombardiers.
