Maurice de Giorgio passes way

Maurice de Giorgio, founder and chairman of Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti passed away this morning, aged 91.

De Giorgio was a well-known and respected benefactor.

Last year a publication entitled A Timeless Gentleman: Festschrift in honour of Maurice de Giorgio was presented to him at the Phoenicia Hotel, Valletta on the 31st July 2014 in the presence of family, friends, authors of contributions to the festschrift, and close collaborators of Patrimonju over the years. De Giorgio is a man who translated his addiction to culture, his fanaticism for perfection and his love for his native land into dynamic action and relentless achievement. The book was meant as a passionate tribute and it was edited by Giovanni Bonello with contributions by various historians.
