Malta signs agreement with Cambridge University

Government signs agreement with Cambridge English for assessment of English teaching levels in Malta

Cambridge English will be assessing the level of English teaching in Malta, from primary to post-secondary institutions.

Today education minister Evarist Bartolo signed a two-year agreement with the Cambridge University offshoot, which will see the board assess the situation in Malta and provide suggesstions to improve the system.

Hanan Khalifa, Head of Research and International Development, Cambridge English Language Assessment was present and signed on behalf of the British university.

On his part, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat reiterated his government’s commitment to turn Malta into an “educational hub” and stressed the need to “raise the game.”

Cambridge English has been active for over 100 years and its exams are accepted by over 20,000 universities, employers and governments around the world.
