In the Press: Police treating Gozo death as suspicious

Police are not ruling out foul play in the death of a Danish woman, who went missing last week, but are treating the death as 'suspicious'. The 72-year-old tourist was reported missing by relatives on 24 July and her body was discovered in Marsalforn valley two days later.

The Feyza Genc, a Turkish-registered cargo ship, escaped Malta in the past days, despite an arrest warrant having been issued after it was discovered that its operators owed a Maltese company some €45,000 for fuel.

Some 18,000 foreign workers sent €17.9 million to other countries in 2014, significantly less than other countries of comparable population size. A report published by the International Fund for Agricultural Development showed that Russia topped the list, sending an estimated €18.5 billion overseas.
