Over 1,000 attend Ball in aid of Community Chest Fund

Over 1,000 people attended the Ball of the August Moon at the Verdala Palace last night. The event was held under the auspices of President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca.

In her opening of the speech, the President of the Republic Marie Louise Coleiro Preca said that since its inception, the Ball, was held to raise funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund so that it could then help Maltese and Gozitans in need of specialised care against cancer and other chronic diseases.

The President thanked those who attended, as well as the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata.

Those present were entertained thanks to the Band of the Armed Forces of Malta the Band of the Malta Police Force, George Curmi (Il-Pusé) and his Band and Mr Pierre Cordina.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and his wife Michelle also attended.
