In the Press: About 100 new public sector employees per month since last election

About 100 people per month were employed with the public sector since the Labour party was elected to government, official data reveals, with this newspaper estimating that the public wage bill increased by some €22 million as a result.

The government's multi-million state guarantee for the building of the new gas power station is discriminatory against local businesses, who never received such support through taxpayer money, the PN said.

The 35-tonne gas-powered turbines, which will create electricity using natural gas at the new power station, will be shipped to Malta in November, producer Siemens confirmed.
