A group of Maltese tourists got more than they bargained for when they were touring a small Polish village in the Jelenia Góra county.

According to Polish newspaper Gazeta Wroclawska, 12 Maltese citizens were stopped by the Police after a concerned resident thought they were “illegal immigrants”.

A resident of Janowice Wielkie reported the “suspicious group of people who appeared in his village” to the police.

But when two officers went on site to check out the “suspicious group”, the police found a group of tourists who were enjoying their visit.

Sub-inspector Jelenia Góra admitted that “in this case, the reaction was greatly exaggerated”.
