Opposition leader Simon Busuttil has offered his full cooperation with a magisterial inquiry into an alleged discrepancy, highlighted by the Speaker, in the fuel consumption of Busuttil's official car. Busuttil requested that his driver be suspended, pending the results of the investigation.

Green NGOs have called for the resignation of parliamentary secretary Ian Borg, claiming his position is untenable. Borg is under investigation for his part in securing a development permit for a piece of land he owns in Rabat.
