Identity Malta employees are back at work, three months after being suspended on full pay following their arrest in a raid in September. The police bail they were under has been lifted as no wrongdoing has been discovered, police said.

The government has called into question the performance bonuses of regional executive secretaries within local councils. The National Association for Local Council and Regional Executive Secretaries has expressed concern at what it called parliamentary secertary Stefan Buontempo's attempt to shift blame.

Spiridione Mercieca, who was two months away from facing a jury in a murder trial, died yesterday aged 53. Mercieca was accused of the murder of his business partner Martin Scicluna in 2008.
