In the Press: Mistra village mega-project dropped due to lack of funds

Plans to build a 12-storey, 700-apartment complex on the site of the former Mistra village have been dropped. Sources say the reason was a lack of funds and the over-abundance of ongoing development on the island.

Comments by Glenn Bedingfield, made earlier this week and aimed at the archbishop, are in breach of government policy. Those employed by the government are required to state, in their posts to social media, that their opinions are their own. 

L-Orizzont

A small quake, occurring some 30km off the coast of Malta, shook the island briefly yesterday. It measured 4.4 on the Richter scale. Seismologists said the last quake of such magnitude was reported in 1972.

A number of improvements in the efficiency of the law courts are underway, as part of the justice reform. Some changes include the introduction of court attorneys, who would help to speed up research and drafting of sentences, and the improvement of legal aid services.
