Busuttil to attend civil society protest calling for Mizzi, Schembri resignations

Busuttil: "Another moment calling on the people to unite and speak out against a Prime Minister who did not want to listen."

Opposition leader Simon Busuttil has announced that he will be attending a protest calling for the resignation of minister Konrad Mizzi and the Prime Minister's chief of staff Keith Schembri, who admitting having setting up a trust in New Zealand and a company in Panama.

The protest takes place on Saturday 7 May, and is organised by the Civil Society Network.

The Panama Papers revealed that Mizzi and Schembri had also attempted to open bank accounts in several countries, in order to use them in connection with their Panama offshore companies.

Busuttil said that this was "another moment calling on the people to unite and speak out against a Prime Minister who did not want to listen."

The Opposition yesterday voted in favour of a no confidence motion against Mizzi filed by independent MP Marlene Farrugia.
