Almost half of the Nationalist Party’s complaints on voting rights granted to foreigners buying Maltese citizenship were deemed justified by the Electoral Commission, the newspaper reports.

It says that the commission is not expected to file any objections in 39 of the 91 cases flagged by the PN.

Glenn Bedingfield’s rant against a judge was “uncalled for”, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said when contacted by the newspaper.

“Freedom of speech is a universal freedom for all, however the Prime Minister finds the comment to be uncalled for. We also note his apology following the comment.”
