Social security department gets new logo

MCAST student Andreas Azzopardi creates new logo, which is inspired by a wish for equality and for safeguarding children

The new logo for the social security department was unveiled during a press conference held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of social security in Malta.

Social solidarity minister Michael Farrugia said that the logo had been created alongside a number of MCAST students, with fifteen students participating initially.

“Ultimately three students were shortlisted by a specially elected board, and finally, Andreas Azzopardi’s design was chosen,” he said.

Azzopardi explained that he had worked hard to ensure that the logo was modern and that it reflected current realities.

“The logo depicts the need to safeguard children and to instill a sense of equality amongst adults,” Azzopardi explained.

Farrugia explained that Azoopardi and his tutors would meet with the board to discuss the chosen logo and incorporate sme changes if necessary.
