MP’s petition urges government to keep leasing land to fireworks enthusiasts

Opposition MP Jason Azzopardi presented a petition in Parliament, urging government to continue leasing a plot of land in Gudja to fireworks maker.

Presenting his petition, the shadow justice minister said that the field in question is the only safe place in Gudja from which fireworks enthusiasts can practice their hobby.

The petition has 500 signatures and is backed by the Gudja local council, the Ghaqda Muziklai Marija Assunta Gudja, the Socjeta Flarmonika La Stella Gudha and the Grupp Armar Santa Marija Gudja.

Speaker Anglu Farrugia said that he will pass Azzopardi’s petition through the relevant channels.
