In response to a request from the Maltese government, the German government will contribute defence assets to support Malta’s security operation for the EU Informal Summit that will be held in Malta on 3 February 2017.

The provided support to the Armed Forces of Malta will be the deployment of a mobile Air Surveillance Radar System to enhance security during the Summit.

"The Government of Malta welcomes the contribution by the German Government during such an important event," home affairs minister Carmelo Abela said.
