If Prime Minister Joseph Muscat really backed minister Chris Cardona “from A to Z”, then he did not know the ABC of the brothel situation, Opposition leader Simon Busuttil has said.

“The A in this case stands for Acapulco, the B for bordello and the C for Chris Cardona,” he joked with journalists, following a walk-around at the Shireburn offices at Skyparks in Luqa.

Busuttil said he still did not believe Cardona, who was denying allegations that he had visited the brothel FKK Acapulco in Velbert, outside Essen while on official business in Germany.

The Opposition leader also criticised the government for the devaluation of the ITS land in St Julian’s given to DB Group for development.

“It is now clear that the government gave the land away for a mere €17 million, of which €5 million have been paid,” he said. “The government is trying to hide behind claims of further payments by the developer for other services.”

Busuttil said that even if Silvio Debono had indeed paid €60 million as originally claimed, it was still far from the €200 million established by the government’s department itself.

He also criticised the government for renewing the contract of Sai Mizzi, wife of minister Konrad Mizzi, at €13,000 a month, without informing anyone.

“Mizzi and Muscat need to explain why the renewal of Sai Mizzi’s contract was kept secret,” he said.
