Man held by police after allegedly assaulting warden

The man was on foot when he allegedly approached the warden and started arguing with the public official

A man is being held by the police after he allegedly assaulted a warden in Naxxar.

The warden was examined for any injuries he might have sustained.

A spokesperson for the police’s communications office said that the incident happened at around 11.30am, in Triq il-Balal, Naxxar.

The warden, the police said, was at his fixed point next to the roundabout when the man approached him. Asked whether the argument was related to a ticket the warden may have issued, MaltaToday was told that the man had not been driving a car.
