Xemxija residents file complaint against Beachaven

Residents at Xemxija have filed a police report after a party at Beachaven disrupted them.

The party, which kept going on till 4a,, was sold out and reportedly hosted almost 400 people.

Locals have argued that the venue is too small to host, leaving partygoers with no other option than to go to the outer area of the location, amplifying the noise.

David Agius, who filed the complaint, argued that beachaven has been reckless. Beachaven’s exit is only available through one staircase, which would not be enough for 400 people to access in cases of emergency.

Residents are now calling on the Health and Safety board, the Department of Civil Protection, the Tourism Authority and the St.Paul’s Bay local council to further investigate whether the location is suitable to host parties anymore.

In correspondences with Agius, Beachaven apologized for annoying the residents and promised that the party will be over by 11pm. The party, however, kept going on until 4 am.
