Blood Transfusion Service urges for blood donation, cautious driving

Members of the public are being urged to spare an hour to donate blood in solidarity with those who suffered from traffic accidents or were recovering in hospitals.

In a statement, the National Blood Transfusion Service appealed for more cautious driving, pointing out that, apart from risks to life, accidents also disrupted the blood reserve.

It added he Blood Bank in Guardamangia will remain open until 6pm this evening, and that those who are not able to drop by today may donate blood during the rest of the week from 8am to 6pm.

People who wish to donate blood must present their ID card, driving license or Maltese passport and are urged to encourage others to donate as well.
